STOP Leeds CIty Council closing our farm and making our horses homeless!
Why this petition matters
How do you describe despair, bereavement and total disbelief??
30 years ago North Ives farm in Horsforth, Leeds became a livery yard because farming just didn’t pay.
Now the council has decided to close us down and return it to farming. It doesn’t matter to them that it’s a successful business, well used and much loved with a range of people and horses who have called it home for three decades!
We’ve now been told to leave in a matter of weeks. One horse has already died due to the stress of trying to relocate him, others are due to be euthanised due to their old age. Peoples lives have been broken apart by this and for what? The council have not given us an answer.
Leeds City Council state they are committed to improving well-being and reducing carbon. How can they say this decision fits with the values they wrote!
Please, please sign our petition and make Leeds City Council re-think this decision and stop the needless destruction of a loving home for horses, a much needed community for their owners and a safe place for families and dog walkers!
