Stop leaving dog waste bags in public spaces

The Issue

Living in our community has become increasingly frustrating because people leave their animal waste outside, and it's creating a messy and unsanitary environment. Not only is it unpleasant to step in dog waste left on sidewalks and parks, but the situation worsens when the rain and wind blow these bags into our rivers or clog up sewage drains. This not only harms our natural waterways but also puts strain on our waste management systems.

According to environmental experts, unattended dog waste and bags can take years to decompose, leading to soil and water contamination. The presence of pet waste in rivers and lakes introduces harmful bacteria and pollutants into the ecosystem, affecting aquatic life and potentially human health. This is an issue that impacts everyone in our community.

We propose the implementation of more public dog waste stations equipped with biodegradable bags and regular patrols to ensure compliance. We also call for a public awareness campaign to educate pet owners on the importance of responsible waste disposal.

Cleaning up after pets is a simple task, yet its impact can be substantial. By acting together, we can protect our environment, community health, and enjoy cleaner public spaces. Please sign this petition to urge local authorities to take action and ensure a cleaner, safer environment for everyone.
