The Issue

As a long-time resident and worker in Kentucky, I am deeply concerned about the proposed Kentucky House Bill 500. This bill, introduced by Rep. Phillip Pratt, R-Georgetown, aims to drastically reduce workers' rights in our state. If passed, it would:

-Eliminate required lunch and rest breaks

-Eliminate overtime pay for working seven consecutive days

-Decrease the statute of limitations for bringing employment lawsuits from five to three years

Rep. Pratt is not only a legislator but also a business owner who stands to benefit from these changes at the expense of hardworking Kentuckians like myself and my loved ones. It is clear that this bill is driven by personal interests rather than concern for the welfare of workers.

Kentucky's workforce deserves better than this. We deserve fair treatment and respect for our labor rights. It's crucial that we stand together against this attempt to diminish our rights as workers.

We call on all Kentuckians to join us in opposing KY HB 500 - because every worker deserves fair treatment under law! Please sign this petition today!
