In January 2009, the Grand Haven City Council members ordered sharpshooters to kill baited deer in our cemetery, desecrating its sacred grounds. For over a year a local resident destroyed the sanctity further by shooting/poaching wildlife from his balcony into our cemetery. This must stop, those with loved ones buried at Lake Forest Cemetery are petitioning to have respect, reverence and sanctity restored to this beautiful resting place.
