Stop Killing Healthy Animals at Columbus GA Animal Care & Control - Implement No Kill Plan

The Issue

So many lives are negatively impacted from the killing of healthy animals for SPACE. First, there are those who lose the opportunity to add that animal to their family because there wasn't enough time once they became adoptable. Second are the volunteers and employees in the center that care for these animals daily and get attached only to watch them being led off to the kill room. Third, the animals, who come into the shelter where they should be safe, but ultimately many of them die waiting. Finally, a slow death to the humanity and faith of people as they watch with a feeling of helplessness as animal after animal loses its life.

There is so much at stake here. Animals' lives are at stake. Already hundreds have died just this year so far. More will die if something isn't done now. The reputation of a city and her government are at stake. The more animals die, the more people are traumatized. The more people are traumatized, the less faith they have in the system and ultimately the ones who govern the system. Humanity itself is at stake! The more animals are killed, the more numb people become until at some point there is no humanity left!

We must act now, before humanity takes a fatal blow. We must act before another innocent animal dies at the hands of dying humanity. With every death people lose hope a little more; they lose a little more faith that their city cares about the lost, the abandoned, the wayward. If it goes too far they themselves will have stopped caring because it hurts too much to care. So we MUST ACT NOW! We must convince the City of Columbus and Columbus Animal Care & Control Center to institute the No Kill Strategy immediately so no more healthy animals lose their lives.
