Stop killing and trading Butterflies!

Stop killing and trading Butterflies!
The Issue
When I was a kid, I would regularly see butterflies in the Summer. But now, I only see the white ones in the wild, while the colorful ones are inside framed boxes, in zoo butterfly enclosures, and being sold to kids as butterfly hatching kits. I would like to speak for these tiny vulnerable creatures that give color and gentle beauty to our planet. We are rapidly changing the ability of butterflies to thrive in the wild in the numbers that they were meant to be. When I see butterfly enclosures and butterfly kits advertised, I think of the trafficing of humans and animals for captivity. And when I see butterfly collections and art, I think of the death that is represented. And I wonder if people would be so cavalier about dead humans or mammals carefully arranged in a framed box. I would like to change the perception of killing and trading insects to only when it is absolutely necessary and not for recreational or even educational purposes. Humans have discovered and studied butterflies very thoroughly and now we need to leave them alone to recover as much as they can in spite of our abuses and greed. Please pass international laws that ban the capture and sale of this beautiful God made art!
