Stop Johns Hopkins Dining From Removing the Grill Station at Levering

Stop Johns Hopkins Dining From Removing the Grill Station at Levering
The Issue
The Johns Hopkins Dining Board is considering a decision that could significantly impact the student body's access to regular, staple meals. There seems to be a consistent trend with Johns Hopkins Dining changing dining options without surveying or consulting the overall student body. This new potential action threatens the well-being and academic performance of all students, as proper nutrition is a critical factor in maintaining health and focus for studies. Replacing the Grill with a niche menu such as Mosaic would be unfair to the rest of the student body as the Grill is the most popular station currently at Levering Kitchens. In addition, Mediterranean food is frequently served at Hopkins Cafe and Nolans (which doesn't garner as much attention from students when served). While these two places also have burgers, they do not have the wide variety of options that Grill provides, even to those who are vegan. Additionally, having two rice stations is counterproductive and decreases the diversity of food options. If students truly want a Mediterranean option, it should be implemented in preexisting stations rather than stripping the student body of its most popular food station. We urge you not only as members of this institution but also as concerned individuals who value student health and success. Please join us in calling on the Johns Hopkins Dining Board to reconsider their decision and ensure the Grill remains at Levering. Sign this petition today!
