The development plans for a 2000 foot wide super highway—Interstate 11— intended to connect Nogales and Las Vegas would negatively impact what is left of the delicate Sonoran Desert in Arizona.

The highway would not only permanently disrupt and eradicate natural habitats, it would evict and destroy countless properties that tax-paying Arizonans have invested in for generations. Political and economic greed are driving this outrageous plan, and if the public does not speak out against it, the consequences will be irreversible. Arizona's highway system does not need another scar on our pristine landscape.

Our existing highways are already polluted, in rampant disrepair, and need engineering focus. This is a power move for developers, the transportation industry, and the politicians who support them. This is not for native lands. Not for native people. Not for settlers on the land. And especially not for the precious ecological systems that make the Sonoran Desert one of the most treasured places on earth.
