The Issue

Our homes, our county, the very fabric of our community is under threat. A creeping industrial presence is hovering over the tranquil fields and farms of Miami County, Indiana - industrial solar panels. The influence of solar companies leveraging subsidies - our very own tax dollars - is endangering our food supply, jeopardizing health standards, and impacting non-participating land owner rights.

The repercussions of these installations are stark. Solar panels pose a significant threat to our property value and pose potential damages to our farming infrastructure. Field tiles and ditches are at risk. The vibrancy and diversity of our local wildlife are in danger. Not to mention their impact on the individual's health, a cost too great to ignore. And without farms, where is our food to come from?

Furthermore, there is the undeniable aesthetic impact on our beloved land. Industrial solar panels are unsightly blots on the landscape, casting a dark cloud over our community and state’s natural beauty. When the subsidies wither away, it opens the door for foreign ownership and control, adding another layer of detachment and disregard for what we hold dear.

This is a matter of extreme importance for each one of us who care about our homes, our land, and our county's future. For the sake of Miami County and its proud citizens, we call for an immediate halt to industrial solar panel installations on our farmland. This practice threatens many facets of our way of life and must be curtailed. Stand up for our community and our rights - sign this petition today.
