"Stop illegal logging"

The Issue

Illegal logging impacted many people and society because it can cause a climate change that we were actually facing nowadays. Not only people in the society was impacted, but also the living animal species in the forest because their home was destroyed.

In 2018, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) reported that there were 1,291 cases of illegal logging in the country, a decrease of 30% from 2017. And in 2019, the Forest Management Bureau (FMB) reported that the forest cover in the Philippines had declined to 23.04 million hectares, which is approximately 24% of the country's total land area. Illegal logging was identified as one of the major drivers of deforestation in the country.

If the illegal logging is constantly happen, many wood materials will be gone that can cause no furnitures and houses can be build by the use of wood, many living animal species will be gone because the forest was destroyed, and the climate change may occurred like typhoon will become stronger and disastrous.

It is important to act now because if the illegal logging is continuous occur every single day, many people to society and living animal species in the forest will be affected nowadays not only nowadays but also on the future days. Stopping illegal logging requires a coordinated effort from multiple stakeholders, including governments, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, local communities, and the private sector.
