In the American community, there is a problem. The problem is that immigration officials are enforcing the law in a way that violates people's right to privacy and making people feel unsafe in their homes. 

Part of the reason I am a member of this group is because I believe we share the value of privacy.

The problem that is happening in my community is violating this value because these immigration officers have been seen and publicly recorded forcibly entering people’s homes, claiming they have a warrant whilst not wanting to show such warrant. These search and seizures have been performed on specific peoples homes, they target US citizens who fit their stereotype.

Our community says it values privacy but what is happening goes against that value because they are forcibly entering individuals homes, whilst not having a warrant.

The fact that these violations  are happening in my community is a problem. This problem matters to me because the reasoning behind these searches and seizures are based on stereotypes and false accusations. This unjust situation is not only happening in my community, but it is also affecting other countries as well. In my community, these officials have been waiting at school bus shops in order to ‘harass’ those who are underaged.

We, the undersigned, ask that you address this problem by reinforcing the ICE policy. The reinforcement of this policy is needed because immigration officials have been violating this policy by going against the prohibition of detaining US citizens, and violating their values of safety. Not only did they detain these citizens but they brought them to detention centers.

We respectfully demand  organized ICE investigations with legal paperwork,  because their current investigations always lead to an escalation of the situation. Majority of these investigations provide no legal documentation, and they endanger a person's safety as well as violate their values of privacy.

We form communities in order to pursue and protect the “common good.”
All people are born free and equal.
When we form a community, we give up our ability to do whatever we want, and in return, the community is supposed to protect people’s rights and do what’s best for its people.
People have the right to monitor their community to make sure it is doing its job, and to use their voice to speak out if it isn’t.

This solution will help us live up to the idea of our communities being equal in safety and privacy in our homes  because our current situation is allowing these immigration officials to have a higher authority on people in our communities .

The idea that US citizens are being stereotyped because of their appearance has encouraged me to use my voice to compel our community to change. The foundational idea of People having the right to monitor their community to make sure it is doing its job, and to use their voice to speak out if it isn’t has encouraged me to speak out because people would rather be compliant and endure the violation of our values.
