Stop Hunting Animals for sport

Stop Hunting Animals for sport

The Issue

According to Yale, overhunting seed-eating animals can lead to the death of tropical trees which exacerbates deforestation. This causes animals to lose their shelter, food, and homes.

According to Shane C. Cambell-Staton, an assistant professor in the ecology and evolutionary biology department at Princeton, and his associates, an increasing number of elephants are being born tuskless. Reckless over hunting and poaching may lead to a world where Elephants and Rhinos are born without their majestic tusks and horns respectively.

Hunting for sport involves pursuing and killing animals solely for enjoyment, rather than for sustenance or population control. And killing a living being for fun isn't okay. Overhunting and Poaching have extremely broad effects on a species' ecosystem and their eventual extinction.

According to Dune Ives, a senior researcher at Vulcan, “This species [Elephants]could be extinct in our lifetime, within one or two decades, if the current trend continues.” We need to stop hunting before it becomes the cause of future generations' lack of wild animals.
