The infrastructure in North Coogee is woefully underdeveloped. Introducing high-density housing without the necessary support services such as proper public transport networks, healthcare facilities, and convenience stores is short-sighted and negligent. This proposal endangers the well-being of every resident in our community, especially our elderly and most vulnerable members.

While we understand the necessity of public housing, it should not be at the expense of the current residents' quality of life. Constructing a high-density development without considering its impact will result in rising crime rates, lower house values, higher insurance costs, overcrowded roads, increased anti-social behaviour, and strain on already limited resources and infrastructure in our suburb.

Our community raises legitimate concerns about transparency and public engagement in this decision-making process. We demand consultation, informed dialogue, and a re-assessment of the pressing needs in North Coogee before any further steps are taken to develop additional social housing in this area.

This petition calls on local authorities to halt the proposed development immediately. Reconsider the impact on our community, involve us in the planning process, and prioritize infrastructure improvements that complement sustainable growth.
