Government of India, state governments and union territories of India recognizes and honors people at various levels, by their different organs such ministries, departments and other bodies, for their distinguished achievements and service to the nation and respective states. Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna , National Film Awards, various state and union territory awards, are few of them. These honors dignified and encourage the recipient and same time made them as a role model for others to follow.

Liquor, tobacco and other injurious substances are amounting to lakhs of premature death, impoverishment to their family and destroy the future of the children.

Government of India, state governments, NGOs and others are consistently working to overcome the menace of liquor, tobacco and other similar products.

We the signatories of the petition are requesting to the Prime Minister of India and Chief Minister various states, and administrator of union territories to immediately stop honoring such person those are endorsing (directly/indirectly) liquor, tobacco and other injurious products at any level.
