Stop high-density builds on Narrow Neck Road

Stop high-density builds on Narrow Neck Road
The issue
214 apartments and 52 serviced apartments, a conference center, an internet cafe, 3 restaurants and an art gallery all planned to be built on a road called "Narrow Neck" for a reason. Oh, and don't forget that it is also on a 16000 square metre block of bush in a World Heritage region!
We don't want this on 142 - 150 Narrow Neck Rd.
I have always cherished the tranquil beauty and unique character of the Blue Mountains, which has drawn countless nature lovers and tourists to its picturesque landscapes. However, the proposed high-density developments on Narrow Neck Road pose a significant threat to the environment and could irreversibly alter the charm that makes the Blue Mountains a special place.
The Blue Mountains are renowned for their majestic scenery and biodiversity. It is home to a variety of native flora and fauna, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. The introduction of high-density builds in this region could lead to habitat loss and further endanger these precious ecosystems. Moreover, the community's quality of life could be impacted as the natural vistas are replaced with urban landscapes, leading to increased traffic congestion and pressure on local resources.
The development area that is planned to be cleared is completely surrounded by bush bushfire prone land.
If there were to be a fire, there would be hundreds of cars trying to evacuate on a single, narrow road. Not only residents of the new apartments, but also other locals could be threatened. How would the fire fighters and rescuers even get their way to the area? There is only one main evacuation route that leads to the Great Western Highway.
Preserving the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains is crucial not only for the environment but also for the tourism industry that provides livelihoods to many. Last year, the region attracted over three million visitors, many of whom come specifically to enjoy its natural splendor.
Sign this petition today to advocate for the protection of the Blue Mountains from high-density developments on Narrow Neck Road. Let us ensure that we can live in a safe environment and future generations can experience the same natural beauty and tranquility that we treasure today.
