Stop heavy excavations in Cleethorpes town Gardens .Favour refurbishment overNew proposal
The Issue
The beautiful and nostalgic town end Pier Gardens in Cleethorpes, from Sea veiw Rd to adjoining Alexander Road to , Sea rd. have long been cherished by our community. Many of us have fond memories of leisurely walks in the gardens, enjoying the unique character and historic architecture that once made this area a special place. Unfortunately, these cherished grounds are now being jeopardized by plans for heavy duty excavations which threaten to strip the gardens of their natural beauty and historical significance.
We need to ask to Pause the town end ,Pier Gardens ,and Petition the council to re allocate funding to the other end of the Pier gardens ,Futher down past the Swimming pool, where this reconfiguration and design may accomodate that area better,as the area is larger ,however if you do Favour a refurbishment over heavy exscavation it would be good to point this out, theres no time to waist because the projects started.
If we can at least preserve the town end Pier gardens ,to have no more deep digging and exscavation I think the Majority would go with this, its affecting to many lives and for a change that the majority did not want or request,Please be sure to contact your local Mp for Cleethorpes Melanie onn,and local
Council ,Project manager Decsion makers at North Lincolnshire Council ,and underline you want to prezerve the town end of Pier gardens to allow access and you feel the changes will be more suited at the other end towards the former fantasy island as that park ,is larger to accomodate the changes.
State you want to preserve and call a stop now to the town end of Cleethorpes Exscavations ,and underline.your reasons .even arrange local meetings with your Mp whom can meet with you at your request and back your cause,i think altering the town end pier Gardens is not in the Communitys best Interest and has upset and Inconvenienced to many people whom never wanted the changes in the 1st place ,Access into the Pier gardens town end would make everyone happy if they could start using it,as before without the 15 month wait, which is not practical ,and holiday season is now upon us,theres Few Places where for visitors to go if they cannot go through the pier gardens,
We need to get Maylaim contracters moved on to the other end so the works then will not impact so many People ,our elderly have lost quality of life ,amuinsty due to these selfish changes.the council may think there acting in peoples interest but it seems the Majority would rarther this was not happening and to think theres 15 months to go ,write to your local Council now Call a stop and give your reasons if your seroius do it now,and what ever you do Do not give up. Good Luck.
These invasive excavations are not necessary for the revitalization of the town, nor do they serve the best interests of our beloved Pier Gardens. Instead, they pose a significant flood risk to neighboring properties due to their proximity to the sea. we have already seen the devastation heavy machinery can wreak, removing the gardens' unique charm and closing off most of the area to the public.
Moreover, the Pier Gardens are of scientific interest, home to diverse wildlife, birds, and plant habitats that are being disrupted by these unnecessary changes. The solution is simple and straightforward: we need to favor refurbishment and tidying up of the Pier Gardens, not heavy excavations. We call for the restoration of any removed architectural history, replacement of benches, planting of new trees, and general maintenance to return the town end of Pier Gardens to its former glory.
Our community deserves to have the Pier Gardens preserved as a beautiful, accessible, and historically significant space for generations to come. By signing this petition, you will help us request a stop to these heavy excavations and advocate for a more thoughtful and sustainable approach to preserving the heritage of Cleethorpes. Join us in urging local authorities to reconsider the current plans and prioritize the preservation and meaningful refurbishment of our cherished gardens.
The work is now underway so contacting your local Mp and sharing this petition is key, time is not on our side, request a n emergency stop to Meylin the Contractors. to the current works, and ask for a reveiw as to whether these plans best serve the community, and detail the impact the works are having on your life, and how the Majority of you feel not listened too, Point it out,Because if there preceding with works town end of the Pier Gardens, there not listning to locals Concerns.and whom is defending the elderly loss of amuty when there quality of life has been restricted ,
Timmings out,as comming up to tourist season.
