Haven Holidays has made the decision to keep their caravan sites open to the public over Christmas. To fund this operational change, Haven has chosen to pass the added costs onto caravan owners in the form of extra fees on their annual charges. This decision was made without consulting us, the caravan owners, who will be financially disadvantaged by this change.

As caravan owners, we pay a significant amount each year for ground rent and upkeep, and additional fees can place an unexpected financial burden on us. Currently, ground rent has already increased by 5.2%, and now we are being asked to shoulder the costs of Haven's decision to open during a period when most of us close down our caravans from November until March.

Many owners will not benefit from the site remaining open during Christmas, as the majority shut their caravans for the winter season. The decision to open should be accompanied by a transparent financial plan that does not transfer costs onto owners who will not utilize the facility during this period.

To address this, we urge Haven Holidays to reconsider their decision to levy these fees or provide a fair alternative that does not disadvantage owners who do not wish to or cannot take advantage of the site's extended opening.
