Stop Hampton's $17 Million Parking Garage and $2.6 Million Mill Point Park Improvements
Stop Hampton's $17 Million Parking Garage and $2.6 Million Mill Point Park Improvements
The Issue
I am a worried resident of Hampton, distressed at the prospect of our tax payer dollars being used for unjustifiable projects. Our city council has made out plans to spend an outrageous $17 million to construct a parking garage and an additional $2.6 million to build a new stage and seating for Mill Point park. This alarming misuse of funds sparks the question: What on earth is our city council
These could be much better alternatives for spending our city's savings. Secretary of State budgets reveal that Hampton has spent less on education in the last three years than what is now proposed for a parking garage. Yet, our children's future ought to receive more dedication and investment.
Let's not let our hard-earned tax dollars be wasted. I urge you all to take a stand. Support this petition to halt the city council's unnecessary spending on these projects. Let us instead redirect this funding towards advancements that will genuinely benefit our city and its residents. Please, sign this petition.
