We launched this petition one month ago and we have already amassed 3700 signatures mainly through word of mouth, WhatsApp groups, Facebook and Next Door. Thank you so much.
Since launching we have learned that TFL told H&F Council that it was unable to support the proposals in their current form due to lack of data and information provided. You can read an interesting analysis on this in Putney News https://putney.news/2025/10/31/relief-as-tfl-blocks-traffic-scheme-that-threatened-to-choke-putney-further/.
At the time of writing the works on Wandsworth Bridge Road are halted with no indication of what will happen going forward. The silence from Hammersmith and Fulham Council is deafening.
Shortly after we launched the petition Putney MP Fleur Anderson publicly endorsed it urging constituents at a ward meeting on 11 October to sign it. “They’ve got another consultation on the bridge on the other side of Wandsworth Bridge Road – they’re calling it a wandering or meandering but there’s a petition on that and I would advise that you join in with that petition because we’re saying to the council what you do there has a knock-on effect to us,” Anderson told residents.
Ms Anderson also posted a direct link to the petition on X.
It is heartwarming to have so much support and to know that the petition is really impacting debate but it is important that it continues to grow. Please share again with through email, WhatsApp, Facebook and Next Door
