The issue

The petition concerns "The Summer Concert Tour" and the ticket pre-sales which opened to loyal Greenstone Club members on July the 19th 2023, with general ticket sales opening on July the 21st 2023. Ticket consumers were led to believe the ticket sale prices were full and final. Alot of people have spent a small fortune on concert tickets many being coerced and mislead into purchasing "Party of 4 or 6 Pack Tickets" these tickets have been advertised under the guise of misleading advertising tactics such "Selling Fast" or "Limited Tickets".  The organisation & marketing of Greenstone Entertainment GP Ltd has been in bad faith.

On OCTOBER the 19th 2023 many Waikato residents were issued with a "Special Local Offer" rates letter from the Hamilton City Council offering $99 ticket sales through an incentivised sale using the code"HAMILTON" as opposed to the $178.15 ticket initially paid for by many. Additionally, "locals tickets" went on sale on the 19th of July in Tāupo & Queenstown, however locals tickets for Hamilton were not included in this despite Hamilton hosting a large venue.

When Greenstone Entertainment GP LTD were approached about these locals discounted ticket rates and the timing of these being released almost three months after the first release tickets for members were open to purchase. I decided to contact CEO of Greenstone Entertainment GP Ltd Amanda Calvert by email.  I have since been blocked from all social media accounts, my email read;

Hi Amanda

I am contacting in regards to the locals tickets letter we received from the Hamilton City Council almost 2 Months after the tickets went live.

We are dissatisfied with effectively being offered delayed half-price locals tickets through the Council Rates letter.

We were told that there are no further discounts at the time we phoned Ticketek so we purchased 2 Full Priced tickets in July. There was a significant delay in advertising these locals discounts and find the deliberate delay was in bad faith, and we wish to request a reimbursement for the outstanding amount given we meet the criteria for a substantial ticket discount.

The response from "Team Greenstone" of Greenstone Entertainment GP Ltd was;

Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund of the original ticket price  amount, however we are willing to offer you an express ticket pass.

Further, on the 24th of November 2023 Greenstone Entertainment GP Ltd released a 50% off Black Friday Sale for all General Admission tickets, in addition to another email on the 27th of November, 3 days after the Black Friday sales captioned "As a valued Concert Club Member we are excited to announce our Black Friday Deal!" Which advertises tickets to the Claudelands Oval in Hamilton at a RRP of $169 reduced to $84.50

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act (GCA) in New Zealand: Any statements by promoters, ticket sellers and event organisers must be true and not misleading. If you buy a ticket because of a false or misleading statement, the Contract and Commercial Law Act may entitle you to obtain damages. If the misrepresentation makes the tickets substantially less beneficial to you, you may be able to cancel the contract and obtain a refund or other damages. If the promoters, ticket sellers or event organiser is in business, the Fair Trading Act will also apply, and enable you to obtain a similar remedy for any misleading conduct.

I am raising this petition on behalf of many customers in New Zealand, calling Greenstone Entertainment GP Ltd out and ask them to address the nation with an explanation of their misleading locals rates offers, and others requesting that all ticket holders who purchased under false pretenses are reimbursed for the overpayment of these tickets. The timing of their locals rates and black friday promotions were in bad taste, despite many customers openly expressing their frustrations, many have largely been ignored.
