As a citizen and registered voter of Massachusetts, I've often felt distressed by the influence of Governor Maura Healey. It seems that she frequently oversteps her bounds in ways that directly interfere with our constitutional rights. It has always felt personal to me as I value the freedoms guaranteed by our constitution. 

Governor Healey's actions, however, seem to disregard these principles. The most apparent example of this is perhaps her reinterpretation of the state's Assault Weapons Ban in 2016. With no input from lawmakers, she bypassed democratic procedure to unilaterally expand the ban (Source: Mass.gov, 2016). This move not only ignores the Second Amendment rights of us citizens but also undermines the process of lawmaking that forms the backbone of our democracy.

It is not a matter of political preference but of constitutional respect and due procedure. No individual, be it the Governor, should hold so much discretion that they can infract on the rights of the people freely.

We demand a stop to these oversteps by Governor Maura Healey an seek her removal from office. We ask our fellow citizens of Massachusetts to uphold the democratic principles that our great state and nation were built upon.
