STOP GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION - ACCOUNTABILITY NOW!

STOP GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION - ACCOUNTABILITY NOW!
The Issue
We, the undersigned citizens of South Africa, declare the following:
Corruption has infected every layer of our government. Billions of rands are stolen while hospitals fail, infrastructure crumbles, and young people are left behind. Whistleblowers are silenced. Politicians act with impunity. Justice delayed is democracy denied.
We demand immediate legislative and institutional reform to end this betrayal of the people. Specifically, we call for:
Recent allegations by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi expose a dire threat: criminal syndicates within the SAPS and state institutions—shielded by senior officials—undermine national security and rule of law.
1. Immediate Arrests Within Weeks
We demand that the National Prosecuting Authority and SAPS open criminal investigations and secure warrants against those implicated—including the suspended Police Minister and Deputy National Commissioner—based on digital evidence, including WhatsApp messages, as claimed by General Mkhwanazi. Public disclosure of progress must begin within 14 days, including the status of arrests, bail, and docket developments.
2. Cancel the Commission of Enquiry into General Mkhwanazi’s allegations
We reject the current commission-of-inquiry model projected to take 3–6 months. Prosecutors must act immediately, and any inquiry should proceed in parallel—not as a delay tactic.
3. Stricter laws around dealing with corrupt Officials
- Fire all ministers and officials implicated in corruption with immediate effect and suspend all pay and benefits.
- It is unsustainable for us to pay for more than one person to occupy the same position.
- Minimum 10-year sentence for those found guilty of corruption.
4. Protect and Support Whistleblowers
Provide emergency protection and legal aid for whistleblowers like General Mkhwanazi and others at risk, recognising their service to justice and national safety.
Whistleblower Protection Overhaul
- Amend the Protected Disclosures Act to provide:
• State-funded legal and psychological support.
• Emergency relocation, security, and housing.
• A Whistleblower Protection Office with rapid response powers.
5. True Independence of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)
- Enact legislation to establish the NPA as a fully independent Chapter 9 institution.
- Secure multi-year, ringfenced funding for the Investigating Directorate to pursue state capture cases.
6. Mandatory Public Asset Declarations & Lifestyle Audits
- Enforce annual, verified asset declarations by all public officials and senior civil servants.
- Conduct mandatory lifestyle audits and publish non-sensitive summaries for public oversight.
7. Real-Time Transparency in Public Procurement
- Create a public, searchable digital procurement system.
- Publish all tenders, suppliers, and invoices for public access.
8. Special Anti-Corruption Court
- Establish a permanent Anti-Corruption Court with dedicated staff and strict timelines.
- Require public progress dashboards for high-profile cases.
9. Recovery of Stolen Wealth
- Accelerate asset seizures via the Asset Forfeiture Unit.
- Redirect funds into a Public Reparations & Reconstruction Fund.
We, the People of South Africa, have reached a tipping point. We are no longer willing to be disregarded by those entrusted with leadership. Let this serve as a firm reminder that the authority you hold is not a personal privilege, it is a public responsibility. You were elected to serve the people, not private interests, and certainly not at your convenience. We are calling for urgent action and accountability. If these calls continue to go unanswered, we will be left with no choice but to explore all lawful and democratic avenues available to the people to restore integrity, justice, and leadership that truly represents the will of the nation.
Signed on behalf of the People of South Africa
