The Issue

Our 55 and older community, located near the bustling public golf course, thrives on community interaction and activities. We host numerous trips to local casinos, restaurants, and notable sites throughout the year for our residents. These are not just outings; they are essential activities that foster camaraderie and enhance the quality of life for everyone living here.

Our community center serves as the hub for these gatherings. Typically, our events kick off at around 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. That's when the magic happens – when residents come together to embark on chartered trips or participate in indoor activities. However, we've been facing an increasing problem that threatens to disrupt the essence of our community: Golf course patrons are using our private homeowners association (HOA) parking lot, often making it challenging for residents to find parking spaces during our activities.

This has become a recurring issue, especially in the mornings, as the golf course's first tee time is as early as 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. By the time our community members arrive for their events, many find themselves without a place to park, forcing them to walk long distances, which can be particularly burdensome given our age demographic.

It's essential to recognize that our community members have prioritized living here for the unique benefits it offers. The shared parking spaces are a vital resource for us. We are therefore petitioning to prevent public golf course patrons from parking in our private lot. We propose a few solutions:

1. Installing clear signage indicating that the parking lot is reserved exclusively for HOA members.
2. Implementing a permit system, where only vehicles with an HOA permit can park.
3. Increasing monitoring and enforcing fines for unauthorized parking.

We urge the management of the golf course to advise their patrons to use designated public parking facilities. Establishing cooperative measures can ensure that all community members retain the access and convenience they deserve, without conflict between recreational visitors and our cherished residents.

Please sign this petition to protect the interests of our community and preserve the quality of life we have come to rely on. Together, we can ensure both harmonious coexistence with our neighboring golf course and the continued flourishing of our vibrant community.
