STOP Gloucestershire County Council's Parking Restrictions Proposal in Kingswood

STOP Gloucestershire County Council's Parking Restrictions Proposal in Kingswood
The Issue
Pleas help stop Gloucester County Councils proposal Ref: 5337-65 intends to introduce double yellow (no waiting at any time) and single yellow (no waiting Mon-Fri 8am-4pm) across stretches of Wotton Road (B4060) and Charfield Road (B4062), to "prevent inconsiderate and inappropriate parking, double park, parking close to junctions and where is causes obstructions to vehicles (including emergency service vehicles)”.
The proposal will NOT address either of these problems and will actually make the parking in Kingswood worse.
As a resident of Kingswood and a parent of two children who attended KLB school, I have witnessed first-hand the potential dangers that the proposed parking restrictions on Wotton Road and Charfield Road would bring. The proposal, reference 5227-65, by Gloucestershire County Council fails to address the real road safety issues in our community - namely the unnecessary and dangerous travel of school buses through Kingswood village.
The proposed restrictions could in fact increase speeding along these roads. Furthermore, they threaten to exacerbate already scarce and problematic parking in Kingswood Village. This is not just an inconvenience but also a threat to local amenities such as Tubbs Turf whose membership income could decline as tennis players may be unable to park and decide to play elsewhere.
As residents of Kingswood, we understand that safety is paramount. However, suspending parking will not improve safety nor prevent non-resident parents from stopping their cars on these roads during school drop-off or pick-up times. We need solutions that address our unique local challenges without compromising our community's way of life.
We urge Gloucestershire County Council to reconsider consider more effective ways to ensure road safety in our village Namely supporting the re-routing of the school buses onto the B4062 then B4058 (New Road) to park and drop school children safely off at the parking area next to Wotton Skate Park & Pump Track. We understand the contract for the school buses is between the operators and Katherine Lady Berkeley School. It is here where the council needs to be focusing its efforts and lobbying and applying pressure to the coach operators and the school, rather than wasting our tax-payers money on road traffic schemes which will not address the actual problem.
Please sign this petition – your support can make all the difference!
Unfortunately when you go the Gloucestershire County Council website (Traffic Regulation Orders for Stroud district) there is no information about this proposal:

We have until noon Friday 15th December 2023 to make difference. Thank you for your time.
