Gladman Developments Ltd (on behalf of Barrett Developments PLC) are proposing a new housing development of up-to 56 houses behind Swan House in South Chailey. 

This proposal has already been refused by both Chailey Local Parish Council and Lewes District Council (LDC) on many aspects including (not exhaustive) it being outside the parish planning boundary, over development, not in keeping with village housing density, building on Greenfield, destruction of habitats, lack of infrastructure (water, roads, health, density, schools, sewage, electric, broadband and public transport), changing a Grade II listed buildings outlook and the list can go on. 

In a cynical attempt to get this development through, Gladman are using their free second chance at planning, obviously hoping that our new council will vote differently to our previous one and that holiday season will reduce their objectors - we want to prove them wrong.

We need to act to try and stop this major corporation in its tracks by showing them that this development is not wanted or needed in our countryside by

1) signing this petition and

2) objecting on LDC's planning portal

Even if you have objected before please object again, even with the same objections as before if you want as the original ones won't be brought forward to this application.
