Demand that the NIGERIAN government be denied future LOANS until they end CORRUPTION!

Demand that the NIGERIAN government be denied future LOANS until they end CORRUPTION!

The Issue

Nigeria is currently experiencing corruption at an unprecedented scale. It cuts across every sector of the economy with all arms and branches of government implicated. In the midst of this wanton corruption, Nigerian government both at the federal and state levels still borrow money from foreign countries and banks with no hope of repaying these loans in the near future. The worst part is that these monies are being looted by a few corrupt individuals, especially the politicians and nothing concrete is being done with these loans in terms of infrastructural development or human-capital investments.

The present Nigerian government elected on the mantra to fight corruption, with the President upon assumption of office in 2015 saying that "if we don't kill corruption, corruption will kill us", has totally abandoned its promises to the electorates with corruption assuming an advanced dimension in the country. If they continue to borrow monies with this level of corruption, there is an impending fear that they will completely mortgage the future of the country.

Presently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which was created to fight financial crimes in the country is now enmeshed in numerous corruption allegations, with the Acting Chairmain undergoing investigations. The biggest one at the moment is the huge rot in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) whose Managers have been accused of misappropriating trillions of Naira with accusing fingers pointing in different directions and the members of the National Assembly are not exempted. This is worrisome for a country that is practicing democracy and the highest law-making body in the country roped in corruption.

We are therefore calling on everyone to help us sign this petition to reach a reasonable level that will attract Leaders of other Foreign countries, the United Nations, the IMF, and the World Bank to act accordingly. This is more like fighting for the future of the Nigerian child including those yet unborn.
