Stop Gedling Borough Council from Building Over 1000 Homes
Stop Gedling Borough Council from Building Over 1000 Homes
The Issue
We are speaking out against the proposed development by the Labour-led Gedling Borough Council to allow the building of 1000 plus homes on the land north of Main Road Ravenshead. This monumental construction project not only threatens to transform the landscape of our community but also to disrupt our cherished way of life. The Council's grand design overlooks the importance of preserving green spaces, which are not just important for us, but for future generations as well.
Furthermore, data from The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government shows that there are 450 hectares of brownfield land in Nottinghamshire that could potentially be developed. This number represents an enormous opportunity for sustainable growth that could reduce the pressure on green areas like the land north of Main Road Ravenshead.
Rather than exploiting untouched lands, local authorities and developers alike should prioritise brownfield sites that are already integrated into existing infrastructure. This might ensure that housing needs are met without jeopardising the natural habitats and the treasures they hold.
My fellow Conservative Councillors and I believe that, with your support, we can uphold our commitment to sustainability, protect our green spaces, and chart a mindful course towards growth and expansion. Please, sign the petition and demand that the Gedling Borough Council re-evaluate their plans and prioritise brownfield sites for housing.
