My name is Pamela Cook and I am urgently calling upon our local community to join me in signing this petition to demand the Santa Fe authorities and the Texas Department of Transportation install a traffic light at the intersection of 646 and 4th Street in Santa Fe, TX. This intersection has long been a danger zone, with a tragic history of numerous accidents, including devastating multi-car pileups. It is a high-risk area where drivers and pedestrians alike are put in harm’s way every day.

On April 5th, 2024 this hazardous intersection claimed the life of my beloved daughter in a fatal motor vehicle accident. Her death is not an isolated incident—this intersection has a history of severe crashes, injuries, and fatalities. The absence of adequate traffic control measures has resulted in countless wrecks and near misses. These avoidable tragedies have caused immeasurable grief and suffering for families in our community.

Installing a traffic light at this intersection will significantly improve road safety, reduce the risk of future collisions, and save lives. It is time to take meaningful action to protect our community members from further loss. We implore local officials to prioritize this critical safety measure before more lives are unnecessarily endangered.
