Children’s Protective Services (CPS) is entrusted with protecting children, yet the system has become perverted, incentivizing removal over reconciliation and assistance. Caseworkers receive financial incentives when removing children from their homes, leading to biased and rushed judgments. Families are often stripped of their rights to defend themselves in court or are misled about their legal options. This is not fairness; this is a gross miscarriage of justice.

In 2020 alone, over 250,000 children were placed in foster care across the United States, and while many of these placements are necessary, a significant number are unjust. Families are fractured not because of abuse or neglect but because of misguided decisions and profit-driven motives within the system. Nationwide, there are families torn apart unnecessarily, with children traumatized and parents powerless, simply because the financial incentives outweigh the truth.

We demand an immediate cessation of payments to CPS for unwarranted child removals. Instead of incentivizing separation, let us focus on sustaining families and healing relationships.
