We rely on electricity for virtually every aspect of our day-to-day activities—from cooking, studying, to connecting with the world. Without it, life becomes incredibly difficult. But this isn't just about me; it affects everyone in the community.

Despite the debt and the people defaulting, this problem can still be fixed. Local businesses are facing crippling challenges, schools can't operate efficiently, and the entire stability of our province is at stake. Imagine students being unable to study for exams, businesses losing money because they can't operate machinery, and families sitting in darkness for hours. This is the harsh reality we face daily.

According to data from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), provinces like ours are supposed to have improved services, yet the reality is starkly different. The frequent blackouts not only dampen morale but also hinder economic growth and development.

We call on the Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative (LASURECO) and relevant government agencies to recognize the gravity of this situation and take immediate action. It is crucial to implement a robust power management system that will prevent these outages and provide technical support to upgrade current infrastructures. Regular maintenance schedules should also be set up to ensure consistent electricity supply.
