The Time has arrived – Get rid of Activity Centres and State Government overreach across Victoria
On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, (tomorrow) Victoria's Upper House (Legislative Council) is scheduled to vote on a disallowance motion that could overturn both the 25 Activity Centres planning changes and the Mid-Rise Housing Code.
The Core Motion
The Mechanism: Disallowance is a parliamentary tool used to overturn gazetted regulations. In this case, the motion targets planning scheme changes that bypassed standard public exhibition and independent expert review.
Impact: If successful, the motion would invalidate the specific zoning and mid-rise development codes tied to these controversial planning provisions.
