Hundreds if not thousands of Children are being forced to perform on an every day basis for their parents channels. These children have the most vulnerable moments of their lives on screen for the whole world to see. Asking to shave for the first time, potty training, bath time, all of this is filmed and posted on social media for the consumption of their followers. Parents are relying on their children to make an income which leads them to exploit their kids feelings. Children should not have to go through this. We have seen the impact that this type of exploitation can have on kids through former child stars like Brittany Spears, Miley Cyrus, the Olsen twins, Jennette Mccurdy and so many more. 

Children are so incredibly vulnerable and have limited power when it comes to their parents. Someone needs to speak up for them because they don't yet have the power to do so. Most kids don't even see that this is wrong or are not old enough to critique the actions of their parents. These kids lives are on the table. Some parents will go to great lengths to get their children to perform including horrible abuse and even torture that is not able to be seen through the facade of familial domesticity. Even without this, these kids have to deal with their whole lives being blasted on the internet for views. Imagine the most embarrassing thing you did as a child on the internet for the rest of your life. That is what these kids will have to deal with as adults. Even as children, many victims to family channels have expressed being bullied and having no friends due to the choices of their parents. No child should have to go through this. These kids deserve privacy and security which they do not have in their current situations. 

By signing this petition you are supporting the introduction of more regulations regarding child labor. When child labor laws were put into motions back in 1938, the modern issues that we have in 2023 were not taken into account. These laws need to be updated to stop this ever-growing problem. In a few years we will begin to hear these children speak up more and more about what their life was like growing up in a family channel. When we hear their stories they will break our hearts, just like the stories of former child stars today. This is why we must take action. We must do something to help those still stuck in these situations. We must act now.
