Stop extinction

Stop extinction
The Issue
What is wrong with extinction?
About 150 animals go extinct per day. This could be up to 10% of all species every decade. Today, the extinction rate is occurring 1,000 to 10,000 times faster because of human activity. The main modern causes of extinction are the loss of habitat, mainly deforestation, hunting, overfishing, invasive species, climate change, and nitrogen pollution. There are also other threats to species, like all the plastic pollution in the ocean. A recent study found that 100 percent of sea turtles had plastic or microplastic in their systems.
What are the consequences of extinction?
You might think that just one species going extinct isn't that big of a deal, but it's never just one; it's up to 150 per day. When species start to disappear, other animals that depend on them for food start to die, and it turns into a snowball effect, destroying the whole ecosystem. A popular example of an invasive species is when an invasive species of brown snake was introduced to the island of Guam. 10 out of the 12 species of bird went extinct this in turn stunted tree growth because the birds used to eat the seeds of the trees and poop them out somewhere else to grow another tree but with most of thee trees gone there we're segnificantly less birds to do that. With the birds having left, the spider population exploded because there were only a fraction of the birds that used to be there.
How can we fix it?
One of the things is to have some percentage of the tax money go to organizations focused on keeping the wildlife safe from big companies. We will outlaw harassing and or killing endangered and make the punishment much harsher than it is right now. We will also make deforestation much harder to do, fining big companies huge amounts of money if they continue deforesting
