Last week I shared Carlton’s story, a poultry farmer in Mississippi who was discriminated against by his company. Earlier this month, ICE raided poultry processing plants in Mississippi arresting more than 600 people. One company involved, Koch Foods, is the same company that discriminated against Carlton. 

Hispanic plant workers in the Morton, MS plant also filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment by Koch Foods management. This lawsuit was settled one year before the ICE raids happened.

The following article lays out how the entire poultry industry is rife with abuse and exploitation. This industry not only exploits the farmers and animals, but also plant workers, consumers, and the environment.
