As you residents of East Stroudsburg University may know we have just received word that all of Sycamore, two floors of Hawthorne, and most of Lenape is going to be reserved for the incoming freshman of Fall 2023. This is unfair treatment of returning students since we are all not given a fair pick of the dorms. They are giving the freshman the opportunity for better living situations since most of the dorms here are not taken care of and maintained. Due to poor living conditions more students consider withdrawing. ESU housing is aware of this and has not done anything to change it. All they’ve done is opened Minsi Hall for next semester when it is not fit for housing yet. Doing so does not help relieve this matter at all. If ESU housing actually thought for a minute then they would notice the easy fix to this is to let everyone get a fair chance at any dorms like it’s always been; with priority of students who can already fill a room. It’s not our fault ESU admitted too many new students than they can handle and we should not be punished for that. If you don’t want to be thrown aside by ESU housing then please sign this petition to ensure this does not happen to us!
