East Lothians coastal car parks have long been used by locals and visitors alike at all times of day and night for many different purposes. With the recent changes to rules meaning these car parks cannot be used between 10pm and 6am by anyone, suddenly people cant use a local space to walk their dog before work, do some late night or early morning photography or even just a late night stroll along their favourite beach. Equally visitors are unable to use these assets during these times which is simply driving lots of campers and people with motorhomes away, taking the money they spend in our local businesses elsewhere meaning local people lose again.

This is wrong in so many ways and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. We are supposed to live in a free society but these rules seem like a curfew for many.

There are many other councils who make money from their beach carparks through the night via charging for motorhomes and campervans to stay the  night, instead East Lothian council spend taxpayers money preventing folk from using them.

Lets stand up and be heard and take action to change these ridiculous rules.
