Stop Duolingo from Threatening Ohio Citizens for Incomplete Lessons

Stop Duolingo from Threatening Ohio Citizens for Incomplete Lessons

The Issue

I am a concerned citizen of California, but my heart is in Ohio. Every day, people in Ohio are metaphorically "murdered" by the language learning app Duolingo when they fail to complete their lessons. This may seem like a joke to some, but it's personal for me because I've experienced this fear firsthand through the story of my non-existent sister.

Duolingo uses aggressive reminders and notifications that can cause unnecessary stress and anxiety among its users. The fear induced by these notifications is real and palpable, even if the threat isn't physical. It's time we address this issue seriously.

According to a study by the American Psychological Association, excessive notifications from apps can lead to increased levels of stress and anxiety (APA). While these reminders are meant to encourage consistent learning habits, they often do more harm than good.

We need your help to make Duolingo aware of their harmful practices and urge them towards creating a more user-friendly environment that promotes positive reinforcement over fear tactics.

Please sign this petition today - let's save our fellow citizens in Ohio from living under constant threat due to incomplete language lessons!
