As an affected resident in Brantford, I feel it is necessary to voice my concerns about the Drag Queen Story Hour taking place in our local public library. This initiative involves drag queens reading books to children, funded by taxpayers like us. This is not an initiative against promoting the freedom of expression or inclusivity, but against what I perceive as an inappropriate method of shaping young, impressionable minds. I acknowledge that every individual has a right to their identity and their form of expressing themselves, but imposing certain chosen lifestyles onto children who are not yet capable of fully understanding the complexities of gender and identity can be problematic. Despite this turmoil, the Brantford Public Library should ensure that its actions, especially those aimed at children, are universally acceptable and do not propagate any particular agenda. We request officials to intervene in the ongoing situation and put a stop to the drag queen story hour.
