Stop Downtown Cashiers Developer from Diverting Limited Resources from Sapphire Valley

Stop Downtown Cashiers Developer from Diverting Limited Resources from Sapphire Valley
The Issue
I am a resident, worker, and ardent lover of Sapphire Valley. Our community is under threat due to the actions of a downtown Cashiers developer who seeks to exploit our resources for their own gain. This is not just an issue that affects me personally; it's an issue that impacts all of us who call Sapphire Valley home.
Sapphire Valley has long been known for its rich natural resources and serene beauty. However, these very attributes are now at risk due to the proposed development in downtown Cashiers. The developer's plan would divert vital resources away from our community, potentially causing irreparable harm to both our environment and quality of life. If the required resources to support the new development in downtown Cashiers are not available from downtown Cashiers, then developers must not be permitted to divert resources from another area that needs their own resources and the development should not be allowed to proceed.
According to the U.S Census Bureau data (2019), Jackson County has seen significant population growth over the past decade. With this growth comes increased demand on local resources - water, energy, infrastructure - all of which are already stretched thin.
We cannot allow our beloved valley's resources to be siphoned off for development elsewhere when they're needed right here at home. We must protect what makes Sapphire Valley unique and ensure its sustainable future. There are many more property owners in Sapphire Valley than residents of downtown Cashiers.
I urge you all - fellow residents of Jackson & Transylvania Counties - let us stand together against this unfair resource transfer. Let us preserve what we love about our community for generations yet unborn by signing this petition today! Thank you for your support!
