DOUGLAS HALL KENNELS - LANCASHIRE 

I’ve seen ads for this place and always questioned how legit it is. So today I did some digging and made horrific discoveries. 

The kennels is clutching at straws that it is a 5* licensed breeder, however the puppies sold here are  imported from Northern Ireland the SAME ADDRESS AS UK DOG BREEDING ACADEMY on a 8 hour journey to the kennels. 

Breeding puppies in Northern Ireland is a huge loophole puppy farmers use to dodge breeding laws and legislations. Including Lucy’s Law, a law implemented to stop the commercial sale of puppies and kittens under 6 months from anyone but the breeder directly. 

The BBC investigated the breeding ground that the puppies at Douglas Hall come from in Northern Ireland and found shocking revelations, all in the video below. Lots of litters of puppies, separated from mum in inhumane condition. The reason the puppies are imported from NI is because there are not the same breeding laws and legislations as the UK, which means they can breed cheaper and take less care in the environment, protocols around breeding. 

No mum or dads can be viewed at Douglas Hall, probably because they’re left behind in NI. The kennels again clutches at straws that this is not a legal requirement. Legal requirement or not, if you are reputable with nothing to hide why would you not show mum and dad?
