The Issue

The petrol stations throughout the U.K are diluting fuel that it is causing vehicles problems.

It is diluted down to the extend that there is hardly any fuel left within the fuel and it is mainly water (or what other agent is being used) and other additives.

This is causing petrol and diesel vehicles issues. Namely ;

1.car struggling to start on a mornings,

2.you are not getting as many miles out of the fuel (I.e you are putting in the same amount of fuel but it’s not lasting as long),

3.your vehicle rev is higher than it should be normally when it is stationary,

4.you are having Dpf problems,

5. Your electronic choke is on for longer compared to usual ( for this time of the year)

6.your car is smoking more (cleaner fuel means it burners cleaner less smoke)

Alternatively less miles out of the same amount of fuel would mean products you buy from the shops are more expensive, as this cost is added to the product you buy.

The price of fuel on the international market has decreased. So as I understand when the price decreases the rate it is sold at also should decrease. However this has not been relayed onto the public instead we are being charged extortionate rates, without the quality of the fuel!

This included all the major brands Shell / BP / Esso / etc.

Diluted fuel means less economy for the consumer and greater profit for the government and seller. That means you would have to fill up more to travel the same distance as before. To the consumer it would seem like there is something wrong with the car but really it is the fuel that is the issue.

Why is the general public being hit with the high taxation of duty when the quality of fuel has decreased?

The British government have proposed to increase fuel prices this is just a scam providing rubbish fuel that has no quality I don’t see why we should pay more in the tax budget when we don’t receive the service ( ie the concentration of fuel that should be in fuel not rubbish watered down stuff)

I can give two examples;

1. I travelled nearly 400miles in a 2.5 litre diesel car with 6 passengers and 6 suitcases, the driver filled up 70 litres of fuel from empty to fill the tank up. The entire journey consumed only a little less than quarter of a tank. This was some Chinese vehicle in UAE with a v6 Engine. If we travel in the UK from Leeds to London on avg this is around 230 miles which is half the distance as the UAE distance it would consume on average half a tank in the UK or equivalent to 30 litres. So why is it the UAE vehicle only consumed around 10-15 litres to do 400 miles with the ac on and with 6 passengers and luggage?

2. I went to turkey and was travelling around in a V220 cdi I put in 30 litres of fuel and that 30 litres of fuel did me nearly 300 miles, where as in the UK the e220 cdi would only do me 140-160 miles for the same litres put in the UK. So why is it the same engine in a bigger vehicle which weighs more is giving me more range considering the same amount of fuel has gone into the vehicle. Theoretically the smaller vehicle should be giving me more range as it is smaller and weighs less! Both vehicles were of similar age. Produced by the same manufacturer and the engine size was the same as-well as the tank size. Only factor which was different was the country the fuel came from. Funny thing was that was Shell in Turkey and this was Shell in UK.

Therefore this petition is being set up for the U.K Government to address this issue.
