Recently I was coming home from school and noticed two dogs running around without supervision. So I went to go and catch the dogs. I finally caught them and started getting on the phone with whoever I could. After hours and hours on the phone with  animal control they gave me the options to either let the dogs loose, take them home with me, or take them to the shelter. The first was completely absurd to me, why would I want to risk the lives of these animals I just tried to save? I sadly however could not take them home, so I went along with the shelter.

Little did I know that the shelter they were recommending me to was in fact San Bernardino Devore animal shelter. I’ve never heard of it, so I assumed it was OK for the animals after further inspection, I learned that the animals are subject to euthanization if they are expressing inappropriate behavior, such as growling or biting, and if animals are not picked up or adopted within a certain time frame, they will be euthanized. This is disgusting and horrible. How is this allowed. How is that out federal government will fine and arrest someone for abuse to animals, but suddenly it is okay if they kill innocent animals who are not given a chance at life. This makes no sense. Devore shelter needs to be stopped immediately this is merciless unjustifiable killing of innocent animals.
