The quiet, tight-knit community of Veedersburg, Indiana is facing an unwelcome transformation. Ratcliff Homes is proposing to construct either ten single-family homes or a combination of three single-family homes and nine duplexes on Rockfield Road if residents of the adjacent properties do not agree to his terms. This development threatens not only our sense of community but also potentially harms the residential properties and environment we cherish in rural Veedersburg.

Ratcliff Homes has faced multiple litigations and has failed to follow essential permit protocols. Ratcliff Homes was ordered a cease and desist in 2024 as foundations were poured on homes without proper permits. These issues highlight a track record that makes it clear their methods could bring similar problems to Veedersburg and Fountain County. 

Such a construction project stands to disturb the existing lifestyle, increase traffic significantly, and strain the infrastructure of our small town. Furthermore, the environmental impact—ranging from increased pollution and noise to potential water drainage and water supply issues—cannot be understated. This proposed development will have long-term effects on our community's well-being, safety, and local ecology.

We urge the local authorities and planning commissions to deny permits for Ratcliff Homes to proceed with their development plans on Rockfield Road. The risk to our community is too great. Our roads, our homes, and our way of life must be protected against such unwarranted developments.
