Is this what we want replacing our green corridor?
A visual representation of the proposed “bunker-style” development—dug into the slope and replacing natural woodland at Shepherd’s Close.
Dear Supporters,
Despite the developer losing another appeal and facing strong public opposition, the developer is again trying to build on the cherished green space at Shepherd’s Close. This latest “bunker-style” application is another attempt to erase the community’s natural green space asset through persistence, clearance, and planning manipulation.
We must act now to permanently protect this space.
Why Object? What You Need to Know:
Ecological Baseline Has Been Falsely Manipulated
Since 2020, 19 mature trees have been removed, and regrowth has been repeatedly cut back—before submitting this latest application. This is a clear attempt to artificially lower the site's biodiversity value and mislead the council about the actual environmental impact.
Inappropriate ‘Bunker-Style’ Development
The proposed development involves significant excavation, with a subterranean design totally out of character with the area. It’s unsuitable for the steep, sensitive slope adjacent to Parkland Walk Nature Reserve and undermines Haringey’s climate and biodiversity commitments.
Irreversible Damage to a Community Green Corridor
If approved, this application will destroy the last remaining natural pockets in the neighbourhood. It will fragment wildlife habitats, increase flood risk, and remove a critical space for urban nature, bird song, and public well-being.

Suggested points to include in your objection:
The Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is based on a manipulated baseline, following years of tree removal and clearance.
The proposed bunker-style dwelling is intrusive and inappropriate for this ecological corridor.
The development would reward deliberate degradation of nature, setting a dangerous precedent for Haringey and other urban green spaces.
Loss of this site would be permanent and irreversible. It must be protected and restored, not developed.
Spread the Word
Please share this with neighbours, local forums, and social media groups. Every objection strengthens our case and demonstrates to the council that we won’t accept misleading, destructive planning.
Thank you for standing with us to defend Shepherd’s Close. Together, we can stop this for good.
With gratitude,
