As part of Middletown’s Master Plan Reexamination dated March 2023 (https://www.middletownnj.org/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Item/9161?fileID=47501 they reveal their plans to add 398 low to moderate income multi family homes (i.e., apartments) in the Exit 109 Redevelopment Plan (the parcels of concern). In addition to the environmental havoc this would wreak on our river ecosystem, our current infrastructure couldn’t handle the influx of traffic and people. 400 units is likely over 1,000 people! Can you imagine trying to get on or off exit 109 at rush hour, let alone beach season?! Noise and light pollution would also impact the biota who call the Swimming River home. This is a BAD IDEA. Please let your local government and environmental groups know why you think it shouldn’t be permitted. Thanks again for your help in spreading the word.
