Stop Deportations

Stop Deportations
The Issue
This petition is based on the recent mass deportations that have happened because of the illegal actions of ICE and President Trump. These illegal actions restrict border entry and force people fleeing their country to have to stay in their country. These actions let ICE deport large groups of people at a time, causing families to be separated and leaving kids without parents. These actions also make schools and hospitals a place where people can be deported from which means that kids and people who need medical treatment are now at risk of deportation. Getting rid of all these people will negatively affect the economy and workforce because of how many immigrants support certain industries (source: KFF).
This is important because this violates the constitutional laws of America and if the people responsible are not held accountable, the people after them will not be held accountable when they continue these actions and violations. It is the land of the free not the land of “go back to where you came from”. Our families all immigrated to America at some point whether it was 300 years ago or just a few months ago so what makes the now deported immigrants different from us. We all left our countries to have a better chance at life, why can’t these people have the same opportunities as we did when we first stepped foot on this land? Now ICE agents can go into your house and find immigrants, well clearly this is a violation of the 4th amendment. Home isn’t even safe anymore for these immigrants. How many more American rights have to be broken before people do something about it? How many more people have to be deported before America is no longer America?
People go to America because it's the land of the free. It is relatively safe here compared to certain countries. Anyone can make a fortune here with the right skills, mindset, and motivation. There is order in America and everybody gets rights. That's why America is called the land of opportunity and the land of the free. Now America wasn’t originally the “Land of the free” because America relied on slaves and free labor, but it got better. Slaves were freed, black people got rights, women got rights, LGBTQ+ got rights, and even immigrants got rights even when they are not legal citizens. Honestly immigrants make up a large part of the workforce and actually do a lot to support the American economy even though they are only trying to support themselves and their families. They contribute to the economy by working the long hours and doing the jobs that people don’t want to do (source: USAFACTS).
We have to stop ICE from deporting these people trying to escape their homeland. Everybody will suffer from this if we continue doing this. The economy will get hit really hard. Families will get separated. Kids will be left without their parents. Even parents will be left without their kids. If we stop deporting people, we can become a better country. We are a country built off the back of immigrants from every corner of the world. We need to let people into our country so that we can become the best country we can. We need the different ideas of the different views from across the world to help solve different problems. These problems can range from food problems to health problems. We can become innovative with more people’s input because everybody has a different perspective on things.
America would be a better place with these new immigrants because with their help, we can become the leading nation in innovation and technology. People coming from different places will have different ideas that can bring greatness to America. They will also bring us more cultural diversity, exposing Americans to different ideas and foods and holidays.
