Stop Delivery Companies from Increasing Item Prices Unfairly

Stop Delivery Companies from Increasing Item Prices Unfairly

The Issue

As a support worker who heavily relies on delivery services for my disabled service users, I have noticed a worrying trend. Companies like Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat have been inflating the prices of regular shopping deliveries. This unfair practice has resulted in making essentials more expensive for those who need them the most.

Let's talk specifics. These companies aren't merely charging for their delivery services – that wouldn't be an issue. They are actually increasing the cost of each individual item in the basket. So a shopping cart amounting to £30 could skyrocket to as much as £50, depending on the items added.

What these companies are doing not only burdens individuals who are already struggling, but also effectively exploits a system aimed at providing convenience and ease. It essentially deprives my service users, and many others out there, the opportunity to receive services they are entitled to at an affordable cost.

This petition aims to urge these delivery service companies to revise their pricing policies, to only charge for delivery, and to stop adding unnecessary funds on top of each individual item. This will guarantee fairness, improve service quality, and protect consumers' rights.

Restoring standard delivery charges, we believe, is one step in the right direction towards equitable access to home delivery services. Join us in urging these companies to act more responsibly towards their users. Sign the petition today!
