Stop Deforestation, Start Reforestation

Stop Deforestation, Start Reforestation
The Issue
Trees are important as it provides life oxygen, it improves air quality, it conserves water, necessary for preserving soil, supporting wildlife and many more. Despite with its importance, many people are blind on it, they cut trees as they see this as an opportunity to earn money.
According to the Office of the President of the Philippines Climate Change Commission. In the Philippines, a total of 1.42 million hectares of tree cover was lost from 2001 to 2022, representing a 7.6% decrease in our total tree cover of approximately 18.684 million hectares. As of 2022 Philippine Forestry Statistics, estimated that the country has a total forest cover of 7.22 million hectares or 24.07% of the country’s land mass, which is way below the 17.8 million hectares worth of forest cover we had back in 1934. This showcases just how much of our forest we have lost over the years, and how serious of a threat deforestation is to the country.
Even the deforestation is a major problem here in our country, there's a solution to this issue. We should do a reforestation project here in our country not just in our country but also in our environment to help restore and protect our forest. Support our cause by signing this petition. Every signature brings us one step closer to real change.
