Proposal for Forest Land Preservation and Community Wellness

      Dear friends and supporters,

      We thank you for your support  and trust  in our shared mission to protect nature and promote holistic wellbeing across our communities.

      Building on this shared commitment, we are now inviting Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation, together with the Catawba Lands Conservancy, the Conservation Fund, the Trust for Public Land and the North Carolina Land and Water Fund, to consider acquiring or protecting privately owned forest land in these areas—especially those with old-growth pine and hardwood trees—so they can become community green spaces for recreation and wellbeing.

     Protecting these natural areas today will safeguard clean air, water, climate and biodiversity for future generations while giving residents restorative places for peace, reflection, and connection with nature.

  Together, we need to advocate that Mecklenburg County remains a place where forests thrive for generations to come!
