In May, our community came together to fight against DAG's proposal to introduce another car dealership on Baseball Place street. We were successful, but now DAG is appealing that decision, threatening to reverse all our hard-earned efforts to keep our neighborhood safe and livable.

The introduction of another dealership would increase traffic congestion on an already crowded street. Currently, residents face significant challenges when navigating Baseball Place due to illegal parking and the existing dealerships monopolizing the west end of the street. This congestion adversely affects families, young children, and pets in our community, increasing the risk of accidents and making it challenging for residents to safely enjoy their neighborhood.

Our community should prioritize spaces that enhance our quality of life, not diminish it with excessive traffic and commercial traffic. There are countless alternative locations that could be better suited for another dealership without disrupting the lives of those who call this neighborhood home.

Moreover, communities thrive when they are built around amenities that serve the residents like parks, community centers, and local businesses—none of which will benefit from another dealership in their vicinity. Increasing vehicular traffic means increased pollution and noise, which further degrades the quality of life for our residents.

We must stand firm against the appeal DAG is mounting. Please join me in urging our zoning board and city authorities to deny DAG’s appeal. Let’s protect our community from unnecessary commercialization and preserve Baseball Place as a safe and comfortable area for our families.
